KAIRAH LEE
Kairah Askani Lee, a native of Columbia, South Carolina, graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelors in Animal and Veterinary Science and a Minor in Business Administration (year 2020).
Growing up, Kairah's goal in life has been to become a veterinarian or at least work with animals in some way. According to Kairah, while at Clemson, she was afforded with hands-on opportunities to work with different animals such as horses, cows, and chickens and has learned the many different possibilities Animal and Veterinary Sciences profession has to offer. During her freshman year at Clemson, she joined the Women in Animal and Veterinary Science (WAVS) Program, a living and learning community mentorship program for freshman women wanting to pursue veterinary medicine. She was given the opportunity to network with different people in the veterinary field, connect with other freshmen women within her major, and gave her opportunities to participate in different veterinary science events on campus. Clemson University was a great learning experience for Kairah academically, mentally, and physically.
Since graduated, Kairah had the opportunity to work as a Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital (2020-2022). While at Banfield, she was given many opportunities such as helped maintain the flow of patients in and out of the hospital, communicated with veterinarians and vet technicians about pet care and quality, setting up procedures that did not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance, practicing hospital standards that keep pets safe, and the treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized.

Throughout the two years Kairah worked as a veterinary assistant, she began the process of becoming a Professional Pet Groomer (2021 - current). Kairah had the opportunity to join the Pet Grooming Program at PetSmart, where she learned how to properly assess dogs coat, skin, teeth, nails, learned the process of correctly bathing/drying dogs, learned the different breed types of dogs and their hair textures, and also learned proper grooming techniques such as hand scissoring and clipper work. Since completing the Pet Grooming Program, Kairah has had the opportunity to groom numerous dogs such as Yorkies, Schnauzers, German Shepherds, Poodles, Pomeranians, Cocker Spaniels, and many more. Throughout her experiences working with animals, Kairah believes Pet Grooming is where she was meant to be. She enjoys making dogs feel, smell, and look beautiful and also satisfying pet parent's needs.

Another way Kairah interacts with animals is through Rover! With Rover, Kairah has the opportunity to house sit for pets where she makes sure they are fed, taking proper medications if needed, taking them out to use the bathroom and also provide with love and attention while the pet parents are away. She also has the opportunity to take pets out for walks around the neighborhood and will drop in from time to time just to spend quality time with pets!
Kairah enjoys caring for animals so much that she always manages to kick start another adventure. While working at Banfield Pet Hospital, Kairah observed numerous of sick pets whose diagnosis mainly dealt with what the pet consumed. Pet Parents enjoy feeding their pets table scraps and different treats, but not all "treats" are in the best interest of the pet. (i.e pepperoni, bacon, hot dogs, chicken bones). Pets deserve treats just because of how cute they are, but only the treats that are healthy and beneficial for them! Kairah has made it a mission to identify and create treats that not only are healthy for furry friends but also delicious!
